Ubi Dubie?

(I've been waiting four years to do that)*

Chatted with North American media star Wade Dubielewicz this afternoon for a little feature for (I think) tomorrow. Sounds like he goes Thursday.

It also appears Brandon Nolan is set to go tomorrow. He skated with both Johnson boys at practice today. Eric Boguniecki and Frans Nielsen skated and are improving and are possibles for the weekend.

Catch "Edward Campbell" on The Price is Right? Funny stuff.

----------

It appears the team again won't give any individual awards outside of the Man of the Year honor to Mark Wotton. So like last year, let's play around and pick 'em ourselves. Here's last year's post setting it up. We'll do the same thing: Put a comment here, or send an email to mfornabaio@ctpost.com, picking one "Seventh Player" (achievement beyond expectations) and one "Fan Favorite." I'll compile up a "Three Stars Award" at some point. Voting is open until I go home Saturday night (around 11 p.m. or so, probably), and please vote only once. (It's only for fun, anyway.)

  • My seventh man pick is Steve Regier. How can you not pick Reggie? He plays with his heart on his shoulders. He has come long strides from when he 1st came to Bridgeport.

Fan Favorite for this season is an easy one. Dubie all the way. I am selfish and hope Ricky would take some miracle your "all better pill" Would love to have Dubie repeat what he just did for the Isles last week.

  • Fan Favorite - Dubie (obvious reasons)

Seventh Man - Steve Regier - plays with his heart and soul on every shift. He is one of the hardest working guys on the team.

  • Fan Favorite: Dubie no doubt. Local legend and now Islander legend.

Seventh Man: I'm going to go with Drew Fata. Beginning of the year fans were calling him out and he just was not hitting or playing real intense. But he then took great strides and improved greatly. Was rewarded by being called up as well for a time.

  • Fan favorite is Dubie as well. The little train that CAN!!

7th Man......Maramaki, no much for numbers, but always plays hard and hits everything.

Regier would be a 2nd pick, some of his plays looks like he is at practice trying some of those wacky moves.

  • Ump, I coulda used that "all better pill," man. :-)

There's no good way to check identities without forcing people to register, etc. Similarly, you could basically make up all kinds of names if you really wanted to stuff the box. I'm trusting that people won't (it's a fake award, for crying out loud). So anonymous is OK... You're on your honor(s).

  • Seventh Man-Pitton-hustles every shift.

    Fan Favorite-Regier

  • Fan favorite: no doubt Dubie.
7th man: Pitton or Fata- Pitton works hard every game and is the "behind the scenes" guy for a lot of key moments. Fata also tries hard every game and has made some key plays to keep us in games. He really has improved since the beginning of the season.

  • If one more person uses the F word I'm going to start calling him Drew Sanjaya. Did any of you watch tonight's game? Fata is out of position on every goal he was on the ice for (which seemed like every goal in the game). Just because the kid hits people, fights, and is nice to talk to doesn't make him a good hockey player.

    Votes:

    Favorite - Dubie
7th man - Masi, but it wouldn't be tough to vote for Pitton. I don't think that Regier fits the category. He's expected to be a leader and get things done on the ice.

  • Hey Andy, I get that you don't like Fata, but stop yelling at others for liking him. It's their right to prefer him and it is your right to dislike him, but jeez, give it a rest. It's getting boring already, leave people to their own opinions and get off your soap box.
