Just in

The Sound Tigers are adding Brandon Nolan, Ted's older son, on a PTO. He skated this morning. He's been in Sweden, split the past three years between Manitoba and Columbia (ECHL).

  • Why didn't they just re-sign Chris Ferraro to a PTO since he was just released by Hartford? Oh wait a minute, Nolan is one of Wang's guys so maybe Wang is doing a favor for Nolan by signing his son to a PTO here. Sorry for being so testy! This organization just drives me nuts sometimes. I hope Brandon does well for us. The team really needs to start winning especially at home.

  • Can we say nepotism? And we need another forward, because? Why are we signing more forwards when we are already scratching healthy forwards because we have too many already? Yes we aren't playing well especially at home, but seriously, why not try COACHING the players we have rather than signing more players.

  • it looks like Brandan may have some physical skills to bring. Maybe he will hit someone

  • Let's see the kid play before we pass judgement.

    I hope he skates tomorrow.

  • And Nolan is doing Wang a favor by getting his team into a playoff position.

I don't remember people complaining when we signed Scott Stirling a few years back.

Now, if we start scratching prospects in place of the kid then maybe it's a problem.

As for Chris Ferraro, we don't need another player, so this move isn't about filling a roster spot. It's about giving this kid a shot (or doing a favor for his dad). So, it's not like it came down to a choice between Chris and Nolan.

  • I agree. Give the kid a shot before we bash anything

  • Word out of Pensacola is two B'port forwards are coming our way. Heard anything? Is Cullen ready for a conditioning assignment? Aquino would be another guess.

  • We haven't hear yet, but it would really be a shame it if were Aquino. I prefer his hustle and offensive ability over watching Pitton develop. I still think Pitton has potential, but he doesn't do much to help our team and Aquino does.

That said, I'd agree that it will probably be Aquino. Cullen always seems to be ok when I've seen him, but concussions are hard to figure. I guess we'll have to see if Mike knows more after morning practice.
