Big one

A little bit of a big word tonight: "needed." Appropriate, probably, too.

They played a better game, all around. They got the job done. The only goal against came off a turnover that turned into a two-on-oh.

They kept the front of the net clear, they moved the puck, they got some help in overtime after nearly getting it done a couple of times, and they're back on the right side of the ledger in more ways than one.

Hey, nice job, boys. Take a couple of days off.

Wanted to note the passing of Todd Burger, who was the sports editor at the Fairfield Citizen-News for years and a good guy.

I didn't ask why the dark sweaters tonight, but Manchester wore white last night at Worcester, too. You know I'm not complaining.

From the Uni Watch blog: The Sharks don't like the new NHL jerseys.

Haydar did it in style tonight with a goal.

I don't think this stick is approved for AHL play. (Unless you've got a sponsor exemption.) Probably wouldn't break so easily, though.

So here's the break. Happy holidays, and if it's your holiday of choice, Merry Christmas.

  • I hate to be a sourpuss. The other day your paper did a story on the Teddy Bear toss and the players going to area hospitals to bring smiles to sick children and giving them gifts.

My girlfriend & I were photographed at last Sundays game and the pic appeared in the paper on Tuesday with the story. My knock is on your paper. Not for the story but the audacity to want to charge a subsciber of the paper $30.55 for a print of the photo when everything was done in spirit of the holidays. I have no problem to pay a "reasonable price" for the print. Lets be for real here.

Anyways Merry Christmas Mike and a joyous New Year....

  • I love that guy. He's the one who changes his mind every game about who to blame on the team for losing. A week ago he was blaming Steve Regier (of all people) for how the Sound Tigers were playing. The only thing he's consistent on is that he hates Marshall. And, he loves the Sound Tigers.
