Sad day
Condolences to Michel Therrien and his family on the passing of his father, and also to the family of Rick Pyman, who was instrumental in bringing the old Rinkside AHL program to cable.
On happier notes, Monroe's own J.R. Bria signed with Fresno. Three years to the day after Alain Nasreddine left Bridgeport, theAHL.com posts a story from Pittsburgh about him. Jason Spezza needs to avoid the supermarket (or needs to "get hitched up"). Here's an interesting Ted Nolan interview from ESPN.com's David Amber. And it'll be a heck of a tripleheader at Ingalls Rink Saturday: ND-Fairfield vs. Hamden, ND-West Haven vs. South Windsor, Prep vs. Conard. It'll all go off OK as long as one of them doesn't go triple-OT, like BCL vs. St. Bernard did tonight. (If it does, will they postpone the game and bring everybody back the next day like in 1999?)

who here saw the simon stick swing? that is truly a disgrace. He was gutles and should be suspended at least the rest of the season.. PLUS!!
They had a healthy scratch last night (Zednik) so I don't think it will effect BST yet.
Well, BST has its own issues this weekend, they need to work hard and get a mininum of 4 points.

Albany also has a 3 game weekend so it will be very interesting to see what the teams do.
I didn't watch any of the Islanders game but I saw the replay of the Simon stick swing and I was thinking to myself that Simon definitely deserves a suspension and a heavy fine for that.
Also saw the replay of the "non-goal" in the last 20 seconds of the game and I'm sorry but it looked like a goal to me. WTNH Channel 8 showed the replay from several angles and it looked like the entire puck crossed the line.

I expect Simon to face a healthy fine and a multi game suspension for his actions last night. That was unacceptable behavior.
I thought it looked like a goal too.
Smyth seemed to be limping off the ice last night so it's possible if he has to miss a game(s) and Simon on suspension the BST lose another to a call up.

Mike- didn't a Hartford Courant newsman pass away a few days ago as well?

I saw the Simon hit and was thinking 10-15 games plus maybe the playoffs.
As for the non goal , it was hard to tell based on the angles if it was completly over or not as it was on edge for a part. It was called a non goal on the ice and the replay was inconclusive to overturn the ruling.

I was at the game and was shocked when it happend. Simon deserves to be suspended rest of the season plus the playoffs.
Secondly I was so ticked off at all the Isles fans that cheered for him as he skated off like he was some sort of hero. You should be ashamed of yourself.
