Since I know you enjoy pointless stats and interesting coincidences, here's one for you on the Guite goal. Back in season one when we traded Ben to the Ducks to get Dave Roche back for the playoff run, the Islanders also traded the rights to a prospect named Bjorn Melin. Melin finally got the call last week in Anaheim and scored his first NHL goal two days before Guite got his. It's a small world.
As for Godard, it's a good week to have a Center Ice free preview because it was just like the old days last night in Calgary with the crowd going nuts while Eric caused some brain damage for Boogard. He also managed to get almost 8 minutes of ice time including some shifts down the stretch while protecting the lead. Sure, I'm biased, but I'd rather have that then the few minutes per night Nolan is putting Asham and Simon on the ice these days.
